Roadside Emergency Kit Items - Audi Bay City

The Importance of a Roadside Emergency Kit

While cruising around town or the highway in your Audi, you need to be prepared for potential emergencies and situations. While we hope they never happen to us, having a plan and set of resources available at all times is a great idea. At Audi Bay City, we would like to share with you several items that you should have in your vehicle in a roadside emergency kit. If you find yourself broken down on the side of the road, having these resources will make the stressful situation much more manageable as you wait for assistance.

What Should You Include in a Roadside Emergency Kit?

Non-Perishable Food & Water – You don’t know how long you could find yourself stuck at the side of the road depending on the situation you find yourself in. Especially if this happens during winter, it could take longer for emergency personnel to reach your vehicle. As such, having a selection of non-perishable food items and some bottles of water will keep you and your family well-nourished if it takes an extended amount of time to reach you.

Charging Resources & Batteries – In case of an emergency, being able to stay in contact with family members and emergency personnel is vital. If you don’t have a spare cellphone charger in your Audi, it is worthwhile to add one. Keeping your phone topped off will ensure that if a call needs to be made, you can make it. Having batteries for other mobile devices such as radios is also a worthy consideration. If you are on the side of the road due to a dead battery, having a set of jumper cables is a good idea.

Emergency Contact Information – Depending on the situation, you might need to have responding personnel contact family members and other important people. If your smartphone has a password or other form of security to access it, the contacts stored on your device will be inaccessible. Keeping a written list of your emergency contacts in your glovebox can help responders reach the people you want to have information on your situation. This is also useful if your smartphone is dead, and you need to make a call from another phone.
